It covers the various forms of business ownership while also touching the formation processes and requirements. Additionally, you will find in this module, fundamental details on the statutory requirements for operating a business and how you ensure compliance of the same.

Businesses tend to fail by the third year after start-up. In this module, we explore the secrets of business success and continuity. We also explore what keeps the entrepreneur going and the skills necessary to achieve success.

Course Objectives:

• Create an understanding of the difference between an entrepreneur and a business person.
• Enable a learner to gain an understanding of the various barriers faced by entrepreneurs when starting a new business
• Enable a learner to be able to explain the different forms of businesses including their advantages and disadvantages
• Enable a learner to gain understanding and get business empowerment, such that they are still viable by year two and year three of their operation.
• Create an understanding of business registration processes
• Create an understanding of the tax/PIN registration process and tax compliance requirements
